Boxes

Solander, slip and wrap-around cases as well as boxes with lids are available covered in paper or book cloth. They can be made to your specifications. Prices start at £30 for an A5-sized solander case. Much heavier and larger solander cases with laminated grey board walls can also be made (see far right image).

Letterpress Cards

You can have an edition of poetry cards printed, if the poem is no longer under copyright. The cards above are all in stock and printed on Fabiano Unica 250 gsm paper. Larger cards approximately 22 by 14.5 cm (left and centre) cost £3.50. Smaller cards approximately 15.5 by 11 cm (see right) cost £2.50. If you have a new text printed the cost will vary with the edition size.

Rounded Books

Handmade rounded books made from 80gsm blank, recycled paper are available. You can choose the end papers and book cloth or we can send you images of books we have in stock, from which you can choose. These books also have hand-sewn headbands. They typically cost £95 for an A5 book, though this may vary dependent on material.

Japanese Stab Bindings

Handmade Japanese stab bindings are made from Sumi-e brush practice rolls – soft paper with a pillowing quality. Prices start at £25 for a small book, measuring approximately 12 by 17 cm. Other larger sizes can also be made. These books are made with backed Mingeishi Japanese paper covers, which is also surface-sized so that it wears better. The books have decorative corner pieces or bands along the spine. You can stipulate the colours used or we can send you images of books we have in stock, from which you can choose. It is also possible to have more than one book made. These can be protected in a wrap-around case (please see above right).

Long Stitch Bindings

Long Stitch bindings are made with Sumi-e brush practice roll pages and grey board covered in paper. The paper covering is surface-sized to give it greater longevity. A book of approximately A5 size costs £80. You can stipulate the colours used or we can send you images of books we have in stock, from which you can choose.
